We continue to research and keep up with what the needs of the doctors and hospitals are when looking for a good Medical Transcriptionist. This is important so that the proper training can be given. Our company is based out of Texas. We have staff that works out of their home offices that give online support to our students when needed, as well as staff that is here in our main offices. We accept students all over the United States and Canada.

Even though this is a self-study course we give the support and resources needed much in a way that a guided class would be instead of leaving someone on their own to study and not have anyone to assist with questions when they come up.

One of the things you will find about our company is that we are up front and honest! We will not mislead you and will not sugar coat things just to get an enrollment / order, unlike a lot of the scams that think only of the money they can make. It upsets us deeply of the people that are ripped off by the fly by night scams - or any scam for that matter that care only about the money and do not care what they are doing to the people they are ripping off. 

It should not matter if it is 1 Dollar or a Thousand Dollars, it is still your hard earned money and you deserve to be told both the pros and cons of things so that you can make a decision based on the "facts" and not based on someone that is thinking dollar signs!

It is very important that you have the availability of assistance if you need it that is why we have the hours that we do. Our office is open from 9 AM until 9 PM Central Time.  We are closed on Sunday.  This allows for students all over the US to reach us in both the afternoon and evening time which is when most students are doing their studying. 

Of course holidays and Saturday’s we do close the office. 

While our company cannot make you false promises and will not pretend to; we can tell you that if you work hard, study hard, and pass the course with good grades, high accuracy as well as good typing skills then you should do fine when it comes to getting a job as an MT.

We will assist you with your resume, help suggest anything that might need to be corrected and will refer out your resume to any open positions that are submitted to us as well as researched out by our staff. There are a lot of open Medical Transcription jobs, especially since things went from tape to digital several years back. 

Medical Transcription is very much in high demand! There is a very large shortage of Medical Transcriptionist. Doctors usually have someone in their office to do the Medical Billing, however they are in need of an MT to keep their patients records up to date. This is very important as a patient’s medical records can be just as important as a legal file. Many people will review patient’s records such as radiologists, surgeons, Doctor Referrals, and many more. What is included in the medical records / file can be a matter of life or death if the wrong information is typed into the files. Just a simple mistake such as a blood type can be a huge problem in an emergency when there is not a lot of time and the doctor has to go by what is in the patient’s records. This is why accuracy of a patients record of what is dictated for the transcriptionist to transcribe are very important! 

The way this works is that the Doctor dictates his notes into either a micro cassette or into a .wav file for digital transcription. You would then either transfer the file via Internet or if on Micro Cassette they will either have you pick up the tape or will mail it to you. At that point you will type up the dictation then return the typed reports to the Dr. so they can have their office staff place the dictated reports in the patients file. During and after your course you will have access to the students’ area of this site. 

We feel it is very important to have other students to write messages with as well as to be able to communicate with the staff of this site. It is also very important to have quizzes, tests, and updated information at your fingertips. One of the things that make an MT stay successful is keeping up with NEW Terminology, Drug Names and Dosages, Etc. We provide this information along with links to other sites as well. In your course you will find a list of companies that have been known to hire MTs right out of completion of their course. It is important to realize though, that completion of the course means studying the course in full, keeping your typing speed up with at least 98% accuracy on what you type. 

You will be expected to take a sample dictation / transcription test for any company, doctor, or hospital that considers hiring you to work for them as their new MT.  

When you have completed your course and have passing scores on your tests we would like to have a copy of your resume on file. There are times when we will have important clients that are looking for a good MT to do their dictation for them. We assist them in locating a qualified MT. If you have already taken a MT Course elsewhere please e-mail us your resume with the type course you took as well as your typing speed and accuracy %. We will keep your resume on file for consideration when we have MT jobs issued to us to assign.
